Street Fighter 3-9P – NES

From the original roster, only 9 fighters made it into this bootleg classic: Ryu, Blanka, Guile, Ken (palette swap of Ryu), Chun-Li, Dhalsim, Vega (Balrog in Japan), Sagat, and M. Bison (Vega in Japan).

Each fighter has most of their moves, though some (like Guile’s extra attacks, Dhalsim’s Yoga Flame, and Vega’s Wall Climb) are missing. Stages are faithfully ported—except Chun-Li’s, which is entirely original.

The game cleverly adapts Street Fighter mechanics to NES limitations:

• Strong/weak attacks depend on how long buttons are held

• Charge moves require stricter input handling

• No combos, but tight gameplay preserved

• Opponents appear in a fixed order instead of randomized

The sprite work is surprisingly advanced for an NES port—sprites are layered like in Mega Man to allow more colors than typical bootlegs.
