Contra Force - NES (R)

Contra Force is the odd one out in the Contra series, a US-only Konami release from 1992 that most players never got their hands on. This reproduction cartridge puts it back on your original Nintendo Entertainment System at a price that doesn't require a collector's budget. No emulator, no patching, no setup. Just plug in the cart and play.

The Contra Game Almost Nobody Played
Konami released Contra Force only in North America in September 1992, late in the NES's life, with a small print run. It started out in Japan as a different game called Arc Hound that got canceled, then was reworked into a Contra title for the US market. That strange history is why original copies are hard to find today and why collectors hunt it down.

Four Operatives, Four Playstyles
Instead of Bill and Lance, Contra Force gives you a four-man squad, and each member plays differently.
• Burns: the all-rounder with a solid machine gun
• Smith: fires a spread of grenades
• Iron: carries a powerful but slow weapon
• Beans: fast and nimble with rapid fire

Pick your operative for each mission, or bring in a second player.

Two-Player Co-Op
Classic NES couch co-op. Grab a friend, pick your characters, and fight through five missions together. It's the way Contra was always meant to be played.

Squad Mechanics You Won't Find in Other Contra Games
Contra Force does things the mainline games don't. You can call in a backup character to fight alongside you, and weapons can be upgraded through multiple levels. It plays like a different take on run-and-gun action rather than a straight Contra sequel.

A Run-and-Gun Curiosity Worth Owning
Contra Force has a reputation among fans as the black sheep of the series: no aliens, no Bill and Lance, and some slowdown when the screen gets busy. It's also one of the most interesting what-ifs on the NES, and a piece of Contra history most people have never played. If you've worked through the rest of the series, this is the one you're missing.

A Reproduction Cartridge, Not an Original
This is a reproduction cartridge, not an original Konami release. It's for players who want Contra Force on real hardware without paying collector prices. If you want an original for a collection, that's a different purchase.

Play on Original NES Hardware
This Contra Force reproduction cartridge is made to play on original NES consoles, giving you the authentic 8-bit experience with your real controller on your real system. It's a great pick for Contra fans, run-and-gun players, and NES collectors filling out the series.
