Built Around College Football Rivalries
Teams are grouped into divisions based on real rivalries and geography, so your schedule looks like college football actually looks. Every team plays at least one major rival during the season.
Rivalry Week
Season mode runs 8 games over 9 weeks, and week 9 is Rivalry Week: 8 classic rivalry games, played where they belong, at the end of the season. When you're about to play a historic rivalry game, an alert screen tells you what you're walking into. There are 26 classic and nicknamed college football rivalries in the game.
Real College Football Rules
• Two-point conversions from the 3-yard line
• PAT from the 3-yard line
• NCAA overtime rules, no sudden death
• No onside kicks in overtime
• Game clock starts the moment a kick returner takes off
• Kickoff touchbacks: press Select in the end zone

No More Lurching Defensive Linemen
This is the big one. Nose tackles and defensive ends can no longer dive tackle behind the line of scrimmage. If you want a sack or a tackle for loss, you have to grapple the ball carrier, so start mashing. Dive tackles still work past the line of scrimmage and on special teams, and the dive slide has been shortened from about 5.9 yards to about 3.6, so you have to actually be close to pull one off. No more cheap sacks.
Current Depth Charts and the Army/Navy Pro Bowl
Depth charts are based on the start of the current season. The Pro Bowl is the Army/Navy game, stocked with the highest-rated players in the game.
Smarter, Tougher Football
Dozens of hacks are installed under the hood to make the game play like real football:
• UltraLogic hack
• Juice settings that get harder as the season goes on
• 30 percent fewer fumbles
• Better interception returns
• More accurate field goals, with a 69-yard max
• Punts up to 75 yards, with better coverage and better computer punt timing
• Computer goes for the field goal with 20 seconds left in the half or the game
• Field goal kick block fix
• QB backpedal animation hack
• PA/PC hack: pass control drives interceptions, pass accuracy drives targeting
Formations, Playbooks, and Presentation
• Every team has a 5-2 defensive formation
• Every team has a 3 WR set
• "Hut" pre-snap cadence
• Playbooks can be changed before and during gameplay
• Game stats at halftime and at the end of the game
• No halftime show, so you get back to football faster
• Large helmets in color, mini helmets in grayscale
Simulation Fixes
Tight end sim fix, offensive sim changed to an out-of-32 sum, kick and punt return speed fixes, punt returner ball control set to 56, Pro Bowl returns set to WR4, Player 2 conditions fix, non-random schedules, and team rosters instead of 1991 rosters after the championship game.
